School year starts with NALA reaching more than 2 million children
As the school year starts in Ethiopia, NALA staff and volunteers have been eagerly preparing to work directly with more than 100 schools serving 79,000 students in Adwa, Dembia, and Bench Maji Zone. In addition, NALA educational materials will be used by our partners in 51 districts around Ethiopia, disseminating the healthy messages to an estimated 2.3 million school-aged children across four regions. NALA's school-based program provides an integrative and interactive approach to disease prevention for high-need schools. With a focus on mobilizing all people in the school community, the program engages students, parents, and school staff in promoting healthy behaviors and in improving WASH conditions.
