Roni Akele

Roni serves as the Director General of the Ethiopian National Project that aims to advance the integration of Ethiopian-Israelis into Israeli society. He previously managed an Israeli nation-wide network of service centers for immigrants, overseeing 21 cities and towns. He served as a family social worker in the municipality of Ashdod, and was the Director of Ethiopian Job Placement and Counseling within the Israeli Ministry of Immigrant Absorption. From 2008 to 2010 Roni was elected Chairman of the Representatives of Ethiopian Jewish Organizations in Israel. 

Roni obtained a B.A. in Social Work from Haifa University in 1990, and later went on to obtain an M.A. in Management and Public Policy Administration from Ben Gurion University.  He holds certificates in educational leadership and non-profit management.

At age 47, Roni concluded his post as the Chief Executive Officer of FIDEL Association for Education and Social Integration of Ethiopian Jews in Israel (which he held since 2007) to assume the role of Director-General of ENP in April of 2011.
