However, all that glitters is not gold, and Manyazewal who was playing in the rivers with his friends a few weeks ago is now missing school because he is lying in bed with schistosomiasis, a painful disease caused by parasitic worms.

Schistosomiasis (otherwise known as Bilharzia or Snail Fever) is a devastating disease caused by free-swimming parasitic worms, which affects over 200 million people across 78 countries in Africa, Asia, and South America.
